This can happen the first time if you have lots of data or a slow name server. The slow part is Analog waiting for DNS resolution. It waits for network IO, so it seems to not do anything.

You can watch the size of analog-domains.tab, it should be growing all the time.

When you run fwanalog the next time, it won't need to resolve the same hosts, so it will work much faster.
